Alyna has been dancing since she was six years old and trained at the Robyn Kirkland School of Ballet in Sydney, as well as the Boston Ballet School in the USA. Dancing ‘Swan Lake’ with the English National Ballet at the Royal Albert Hall was a career highlight. Alyna was first introduced to Pilates when she was twelve years old. It was during her time in London whilst studying and dancing with The English National Ballet School, that Pilates became part of her daily training. It was through the exploration of Pilates that Alyna became intrigued by the movements, muscle strength and muscle lengthening Pilates provided. Alyna recognised the benefits of Pilates and the well being it created. Alyna completed her accreditation of Diploma of Pilates teacher training at Polestar Pilates and is both committed and enthusiastic about contributing to the health and wellbeing of her clients. Alyna has also completed a degree in Bachelor of Media at Macquarie University with a focus in writing and dance.

Rosalind set foot in her first yoga class at the age of 15, to this day she clearly remembers being in awe of the 75 year old teacher with her feet behind her head in lotus. Since then Rosalind’s yoga journey has progressed through various lineages and styles including Bikram, Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin. Starting ballet at the age 3, Rosalind is a trained classical ballet/contemporary dancer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in dance from Queensland University of Technology. Rosalind danced professionally with The Wiggles for a number of years and has 14 years teaching experience and is the NSW Junior Womens Artistic Gymnastics development squad’s dance coach. The movement of yoga has always presented a sense of joy for Rosalind, however it was when she transitioned from professional dancer to a corporate career in media advertising that the calming and grounding effects of yoga really hit home. Having completed her first 200hrs training with Duncan Peak at Power Living Australia, Rosalind left the corporate world and immersed herself entirely in the yoga realm and further exploration of the body, mind and breath. Since then she has accomplished a further 70hrs Yin Yoga training with Duncan Peak as well as 200hr training - Moon, Sun, Fire Hatha yoga with the inspirational Octavio Salvadore in Bali. Further to this Rosalind has continued to learn and be inspired by international teachers Elena Brower, Dice Iida-Klein and Ana Forrest. Rosalind loves to share her passion and dedication for yoga with her students and takes joy in guiding each individual through this transformational process. Rosalind’s classes are dynamic and strong, with a deep connection to the breath and mind.

Angela initially started Pilates as a form of rehabilitation and muscle balancing following a running injury. She hoped it would offer an alternative to surgery. Within a few weeks Angela experienced such promising results that it inspired her to pursue Pilates as a profession. Angela brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience as an operating room nurse. Her clinical specialties and interests include: Urology, Cardio-Thoracic, Orthopedics and General Surgery. By combining this broad knowledge and expertise with Pilates, she hopes to use this valuable experience to help clients prepare for surgery and assist them with their recovery. Her intricate understanding of anatomy and rehabilitation is a valued benefit to Momentum Pilates clients. Angela is also a professional classic singer and performs regularly with Opera Australia. Since commencing her training in Pilates, Angela has noticed a marked difference in her breath control and breath-body connection which is a vital aspect of singing. Angela’s philosophy towards Pilates is that it can benefit everyone and it is not always about moving perfectly, but instead about moving optimally for the individual.

Lauren is a Classical Ballet Dancer and a Professional Ballet Teacher. She has been dancing since the age of five and trained full time as professional student at the McDonald College and Ecole, Ballet School in Sydney. Lauren has performed with the Premier State Ballet Company, Ecole Ballet Theatre and Tibor Horvath’s Adult Ballet Company. Performing Don Quioxte, Sleeping Beauty and the famous Pas de Quatre were some of Lauren’s career highlights. Lauren continues her Ballet training at Studio Tibor in Sydney and performs annually. Through dancing, Lauren was introduced to Pilates. Pilates brought Lauren body awareness, muscular strength, and longer, leaner lines through her body. She noticed a huge improvement in her performance and believed Pilates helped prevent injuries. Lauren’s awareness of the importance of Pilates for Dancers and sports professionals made her decide to become a Pilates Instructor. She was driven to cross train dancers and athletes to help them become aware of their bodies, improve their performance and prevent them from injury. Pilates continues to inspire Lauren. Working with dancers and athletes was only the beginning of her journey as a Pilates Instructor. Lauren enjoys working with a variety of clients and seeing the amazing results it brings to each individual.
